Our Mental Health First Aid training is provided over 2 consecutive days, either online or face to face. The course is based on the International MHFA guidelines. The curriculum content is evidence-based with input from mental health professionals, researchers and consumer advocates.
The course is suitable for adults helping them improve their knowledge of mental ill-health, the conditions, interventions, appropriate strategies, building confidence in supporting friends, family and co-workers who are experiencing mental health problems.
Conditions covered in the training include:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Substance use problems
Mental health crises can include:
- Suicidal thoughts & behaviours
- Non-suicidal self injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or drug use
Delegates also receive a course book and access to useful resources.
